The Atlantic Faith was the first new ship ever built for Chinese in Japanese shipyard in 1958. Her steel plates were specially imported from United States Steel Corporation. She was also the first ship of her kind to be built by Sasebo Heavy Industries in Japan. She carried 23,044 tons of ore/oil.
