The Faculty Members of INC College

Late Prof. Wang, Kuan Chieh () was Principal and Chief Executive of INC College of Merchant Marine Officers. He ensured that all aspects of the College were managed effectively and efficiently as budgeted. One of his primary responsibilities was to provide an adequate number of the cadets for Mr. C.Y. Tung, the late INC/OOL founder's fleet expansion plan. Mr. Wang possessed a Master of Art Degree and was also the university principal in China prior to joining INC College.

Late Prof. Kuo Mou Lai () was the principal and sole instructor in the maritime field. His knowledge in both celestial and terrestrial navigation, seamanship, rules of the road, Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS), naval architecture, etc., just to name a few was unparalleled. He was one of the very few Chinese Merchant Marine Officers holding the U.K. 2nd Class Certificate of Competency in 1964. Because of his hardworking/studying mentality, he expected all his students to be like him. He had a high demand on his students. His vigorous requirements set a solid foundation for their maritime careers. We all owed it to him!

Mr. K.L. Lau () was Morse Code Instructor. In 1960-70's, sending flash light in the Morse Code was a mandatory requirement of the certified deck officer. All cadets had to be able to read and send the Morse Code Flash Light Signals. Mr. Lau was the former Radio Officer on the merchant marine vessels.

Beside these 3 key faculty staff, INC College employed a British woman to assist the cadets in speaking and listening English. One administrative assistant was responsible in taking care of other college related activities.
